Question: My six-year old orange tree has started to bloom. Should I remove the remaining fruits?
- Jo McGonneal, e-mail

Answer: It is not necessary to remove healthy old fruits from citrus trees because of current bloom. Some citrus varieties, including Valencia, simultaneously maintain flowers and varying sizes of maturing fruits. Remove diseased fruits and fruits that are prone to premature drying.
