9 Rain Barrel Construction Workshop
Location:  Coccoloba Plant Sale, Bonita Springs at Riverside Park.

Cost:  $45 for class and rain barrel kit.

Lee County Extension Educators will teach you how to set up a recycled 55-gallon plastic barrel to collect rain water from your roof.  Use the water for your landscape plants, potted plants, vegetable and herb gardens, special plant collections, etc.  Workshop provides set-up instruction, maintenance, artistic possibilities and a reference booklet included.  This workshop will show you how to conserve water, save money, and protect water quality.

16 When Nature is Your Neighbor Conference, Florida-Friendly Landscaping.
This conference shows gardeners and natural resource managers the best ways to protect environmentally sensitive areas in our yards and neighborhoods.  It will address all nine, Florida-Friendly Landscaping principles including conserving water and protecting water quality by proper plant selection, design and maintenance of gardens, community landscapes and preserves.  These best methods of quality landscaping reduce the use of fertilizers and pesticides and increase the use of native and natural habitats.  Guided tours of conservation 20/20 land will be conclude the conference. 

Co-sponsors:  Lee County Extension/FYN program and Lee County's Conservation 20/20 Preserves.
