Small Farm Resources

The Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension has launched the Lee County Small farms Technical Assistance and Training Program.

The program is a University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension initiative aimed at improving productivity and competitiveness by providing technical assistance and training to Lee County vegetable and tropical fruit producers, new-crop enterprisers, ranchers, livestock, poultry, rabbit and inland fish farmers.

The Lee County Small Farms Technical Assistance and Training Program is designed to introduce entrepreneurs to concepts and ideas in agri-business management, production and marketing. The Extension objective is to enable the development of a business planning approach to urban farming, and provide current information based on scientific research through the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
